We believe it to be a pre WWII model for civil aircraft, but interested parties are invited to do their own research. This compass is in exceptional condition given its age. The fluid is intact and clear. The teardrop shape case is unblemished. There are adjustment knobs at the bottom one for gross adjustment and the
