This is often Taupenot’s best 1er and in 2015 it is again with its brooding aromas of spice

Ripe but not sweet

tautly muscular and sneaky long finish

At that point

nut oils and rowan add rich allure

Chanson Pere et Fils, Meursault Perrieres Blanc Vintage:2010 This is often Taupenot’s bestSoft notes of mineral reduction interweave with notes of spiced pear, acacia blossom and cool citrus zest hints. There is good richness but also good detail to the pure and mineral inflected flavors that are quite finely rendered before terminating in a balanced and long finish. There is a very slight touch of backend bitterness though my score assumes that this is due to some unabsorbed sulfur and thus will quickly dissipate. 91 2016+
