Completely harmless it creates no open flame. The item seems to be in unused condition and has a pierced metal star patterning on both sides of the lid to let the warmth through. The hand warmer is not marked or stamped. It appears unused and is therefore in very good second hand condition. Height: 9 cm, Width: 5. 5 cm
