A dirty or damaged lens reduces effective power and causes poor engraving or cutting results. Why Lens Condition Matters Dirty lenses reduce laser transmission efficiency, resulting in shallow engraving, incomplete cuts, or failed jobs. Heat build up can permanently damage the lens coating.
