Thanks to the subtle textures + tonal variations in the hand-dyed wool

It started off pretty plain + then I 'printed' the design using silk ties

The subtle patterns + stripe effect is achieved with pieces of old silk ties

Fancy Stitches 4 • 15x22 Purses + Pouches while the back is finished~15 inches tall by 22 inches wide Playfully designed + carefully finished over many hours of meditative hand stitching, this cushion was just as fun to make as it is intricate! Shapes are cut freehand + each arrangement is one of a kind. Layers of stitching are added by hand before the background is free hand quilted (essentially doodling with the machine) + then another layer of stitching + textural elements are added by hand. Handmade at every step.
