It can also serve as a buffet plate. Mount Vernon, George and Martha Washington's family estate, licensed this lovely design. The Washingtons had a deep affinity for stoneware and creamware and used it extensively. Salt glazed fragments excavated from the grounds were replicated in great detail for this pattern.
